How to Create and Manage Different Leave Types

Leave Types define the different kinds of leave employees can apply for (e.g., Annual Leave, Sick Leave). Once created, a leave type must be assigned to a Leave Group for employees to see and apply for it.

Access Requirement: Only employees with HR Admin access can create, edit, or delete leave types.

Main Menu → Settings → Leaves → Leave Types

Important Notes

  • Only HR Admins can remove a leave type from a Leave Group.

  • Once a leave type is deleted or removed from a leave group, employees will no longer see it in the list of leave options.

  • Deleting leave types may impact historical leave data and reporting.

  • If a leave type is no longer required, consider removing it from leave groups instead of deleting it.

Best Practices

  • Use clear and consistent naming conventions for leave types.

  • Always assign new leave types to the correct leave groups.

  • Review approval pipelines before enabling a leave type.
