Overview
The deduction of public holidays from leave requests depends on how Public Holidays, Calendar, and Working Patterns are configured in the system.
Let’s consider 1st January as a public holiday for the examples below.

Working Pattern:
- The Yomly platform currently does not provide an option to uncheck “Deduct public holiday from bookings.” while on Working Pattern
- Only one option is available.
- Public holiday days will not be deducted from the leave balance.
LB days (Before) Leave Request Total Days Deducted LB Days (After) 30 1st & 2nd Jan 1 29
✅ Only 1 day is deducted from the balance (if 2nd Jan is not a week off).

Calendar Pattern:
There are two configuration options for “Deduct Public Holiday from Booking.”
1. Checked – Deduct Public Holiday from Bookings
- Public holiday days will not be deducted from the leave balance.
- Works the same way as the Working Pattern configuration.
LB days (Before) Leave Request Total Days Deducted LB Days (After) 30 1st & 2nd Jan 1 29
✅ Only 1 day is deducted from the balance (if 2nd Jan is not a week off).
2. Unchecked – Deduct Public Holiday from Booking
Public holiday days will be deducted from the leave balance.
LB days (Before) Leave Request Total Days Deducted LB Days (After) 30 1st & 2nd Jan 2 28
❌ 2 days are deducted from the balance (if 2nd Jan is not a week off).
