This is a workaround for individual use cases and not for an entire leave group/leave type.
Use case:
1. Employee needs to use current leave year balance for next years leave, but its not allowed by default leave type settings.
Steps:
-
Go to Employee Profile
- Go to Leave tab.
- Click on Manage Leave (in current cycle year).
- In the pop-up window, fill up the form with the details for deduction, then save (by clicking on Add leave allocation):
Amount = Number of days
Type of Leave = Carry-over deduction (will deduct the amount)
Allocation date = Date the carry-over deduction is applied
In this example (screenshot), we are deducting 10 days from sample employee's 2024 balance as of July 29, 2024. (Notice also the remaining days went from 30.4 days to now just 20.4 days.) - Click the arrow pointing right to go to the employees next leave year cycle.
- In the next leave year cycle of the employee, click on Manage Leave.
- In the pop-up window, fill up the form with the details for addition, then save (by clicking on Add leave allocation):
Amount = Number of days
Type of Leave = Carry-over allocation (will add the amount)
Allocation date = Date the carry-over allocation is applied (please apply it on the 1st day of the employees leave year cycle start for the next year)
In this example (screenshot), we are adding 10 days to sample employee's 2025 balance on January 1, 2025. (Notice now the remaining days went from 0 days to now 10 days.)
