Maternity leave policies differ from country to country. As your business expands and opens branches in various locations, applying a single, uniform policy may not be practical.
For example:
-
In the UAE, female employees are entitled to 60 days of maternity leave — 45 days fully paid and 15 days half-paid.
-
In Oman, the entitlement is 98 days of maternity leave.
If your organisation operates in multiple countries, such as having one branch in the UAE, one in Oman, and another in Bahrain, Yomly allows you to configure maternity leave settings for each country individually.
Procedures
-
Navigate to Settings → Preferences → Leave Module → Maternity Leave Tiers.
-
Select the country you want to configure.
- For the specific location configure the below:
-
Choose the basis for unpaid salary deductions during maternity leave:
-
Basic Salary or
-
Gross Salary
-
-
Select the method for daily rate calculation for the selected country:
-
Annual Salary ÷ 365 days
-
Annual Salary ÷ Working Days in the Year
-
Monthly Salary ÷ Days in the Month
-
Monthly Salary ÷ 30 days
-
- Enter the number of days for maternity leave and specify the corresponding salary deduction rate.
-
- To configure another country, click the + (Add) symbol and repeat the above steps.
- Click Save to apply your preferences.
The next step would be to enable a Pay Category to calculate and display payment deductions on the payroll as per the set configuration.
