Editing employee salaries

You can configure employee salaries either at the time of adding employees to the platform or at any other time from their profiles.

When editing employee salaries from their profiles, you can do the following:

Editing current or previous employee salaries

To edit the current or previous salary of an employee from their profile, do the following:

  1. Open the employee's profile. Do the following:

    1. In the sidebar, in the Employees section, click View.

    2. On the View employees page, click the name of the employee whose salary you want to edit.

  2. Go to the Salary > Salary tab.

    This tab displays the employee's salary history, if available on the platform, and current salary.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To edit the current salary of the employee, click Edit at the bottom of the Current salary section.

    • To edit any previous salary of the employee, do the following:

      1. Click any previous salary to expand the section.

      2. At the bottom of the section, click Edit.

  4. Configure the following details:

    1. In Currency, select the currency of the employee's salary.

      You can select only the currencies that you have enabled in Payroll settings. For more information, see Enabling only required currencies.

    2. In the Additions section, enter the monthly amount you want to configure for each component of the employee's salary, if applicable.

      The amounts that you enter in different fields in this section are added to the employee's monthly salary.

    3. In the Deductions section, enter the monthly amount you want to configure for each component of the employee's salary, if applicable.

      The amounts that you enter in different fields in this section are deducted from the employee's monthly salary.

    4. In Effective from, select the start date of paying the edited salary.

    5. In Change Reason, select the option from the following that represents your reason for editing the previously-configured salary amounts:

      • Adjustments to Current Salary

      • New Salary

      • Incremental Increase

      • Promotion

    6. (Optional) Enter or select values for the following fields if you want to document the information with Payroll:

      • Accommodation

      • Accommodation Comment

      • Visa

      • End of Tenure

    The following example illustrates how to edit current employee salaries:

  5. At the bottom of the page, click Save.

The current or previous salary of the employee is updated.

Adding new salaries for employees

To maintain the historical record of employee salary changes, you can add a new salary for each raise or movement between departments.

To add a new salary for an employee from their profile, do the following:

  1. Open the employee's profile. Do the following:

    1. In the sidebar, in the Employees section, click View.

    2. On the View employees page, click the name of the employee whose salary you want to edit.

  2. Go to the Salary > Salary tab.

    This tab displays the employee's salary history, if available on the platform, and current salary.

  3. At the bottom of the page, click Add New.

    The Add salary change dialogue is displayed.

  4. In the dialogue, configure the following details:

    1. In Currency, select the currency of the employee's salary.

      You can select only the currencies that you have enabled in Payroll settings. For more information, see Enabling only required currencies.

    2. In the Additions section, enter the monthly amount you want to configure for each component of the employee's salary, if applicable.

      The amounts that you enter in different fields in this section are added to the employee's monthly salary.

    3. In the Deductions section, enter the monthly amount you want to configure for each component of the employee's salary, if applicable.

      The amounts that you enter in different fields in this section are deducted from the employee's monthly salary.

    4. In Effective from, select the start date of paying the edited salary.

    5. (Optional) Enter or select values for the following fields if you want to document the information with Payroll:

      • Accommodation

      • Accommodation Comment

      • Visa

      • End of Tenure

  5. Click Save.

The new salary is displayed in the Salary tab.
