Unable to Assign Line Manager to Employee Profile because Manager is assigned to Multiple Organizations

When assigning a line manager from an employee profile, you may see the error message “Manager assigned to multiple organizations.”
This happens when the selected line manager belongs to more than one organization unit, and the system cannot determine which unit to associate with the employee.

To resolve this, the employee must be added directly to the correct organization unit from the organization chart.

 


Access Requirement: Only employees with HR Admin access can manage organization units and assign employees.

Main Menu → Business → Organisation Management → Organisation

 


Assign an Employee to the Correct Organization Unit from the Org Chart

 

Step 1: Open the Organization Chart

  • Log in to your Yomly account using your dedicated business URL.

  • Navigate to Main Menu → Business → Organisation Management → Organisation.


Step 2: Locate the Line Manager’s Organization Unit

  • Find the organization unit where the intended line manager belongs.

  • You can locate the organization unit by:

    • Manually scrolling through the organization chart, or

    • Using browser search (Ctrl + F).


Step 3: Add the Employee to the Organization Unit

  • Hover over the required organization unit to display the + (Add) icon.

  • Click the + icon.


Step 4: Select the Employee

  • In the dialog box that opens, go to the Employees List tab.

  • Use the Search Employee dropdown to select the employee.

  • Click + Assign Employee button.

  • The employee is added to the selected organization unit and automatically associated with the correct line manager.


What Happens After This Is Set

The employee is correctly linked to the correct organization unit.

The correct line manager is assigned without any error.

The line manager information reflects accurately in the employee profile. the correct organization unit.


Important Notes

Organization Unit refers to the structural unit within the organization chart.

Assigning employees through the organization chart ensures correct hierarchy and reporting relationships.

Changes take effect immediately after assignment and profile is updated instantly.

Assign employees to organization units for updating line managers.

Avoid assigning line managers to unnecessary multiple organization units.

Regularly review organization structure for accuracy.
