How to solve the error "Manager doesn't have a organization" while removing a Line Manager.

Occurrence

• When trying to remove a line manager from an employee, get a "GraphQL error: Manager doesn't have an organization".
• When trying to remove a line manager from an employee, nothing happens and the line manager is not removed.

Reason

Line manager is not assigned to any org-unit as a Manager.

Procedure

Follow the given procedure to resolve the error. 

Access Organisation Chart:

1. Login to the system.

2. Navigate to BUSINESS → Organisation Management → Organisation.

   

3. Click the Edit button to modify the org chart.
   

    

Create a temporary Sub-Org Unit:

1. Select the parent node and click the yellow icon to create a new sub-organization unit.
   
2. On the right side edge, one level below the parent node, a new sub organisation unit is created.
   
3. Select the new sub org unit and click the Edit icon.
4. "Employees List" tab: Search for the employee by name and click on "Down Arrow" to get the option to "Assign Manager" 
   

Remove the Line Manager:  

1. 1. Navigate to the employee profile.
   2. Click on "Edit profile" button.
       
      
      
      
   3. Click on "EDIT" button next to line manager. 
      
   4. Click on the "x" button next to the line manager and click on "DONE" button to remove the line manager.
      
   5. Click on the "Save" button.
      

Delete temporary Org Unit Details:  

1.  
   1. "Employees List" tab: Empty the employee list.
         
      • Click on three dot icon, to get an option "Remove Line Manager Position".
        
      • Again, click on the three dot icon, to get an option "Unassign from this organisation".
        
      • Repeat the process to empty the list before deleting the temporary sub org unit
   2. "Organisation Details" tab:  Once the Employee List is empty, you will get an option to delete the temporary org unit. 
      Click on Delete button.
      
      Click on Save button.

Once the above steps are completed, you can successfully remove the line manager from an employee profile.
