How to solve "GraphQL error: Manager doesn't have a organization"

Occurrence

When trying to assign a direct report to an employee.

Reason

Employee is not assigned to any org-unit as a Manager.

Procedure

Follow the given procedure to resolve the error. 

Access Organisation Chart:

1. Login to the system.

2. Navigate to BUSINESS → Organisation Management → Organisation.

   

3. Click the Edit button to modify the org chart.
   

    

Create a Sub-Org Unit:

1. Select the parent node and click the yellow icon to create a new sub-organization unit.
   
2. On the right side edge, one level below the parent node, a new sub organisation unit is created.
   

Edit Org Unit Details:

   1. Click on the Org Unit. On the left side floating bar, click on the pencil icon to edit the Org Unit.
   2. "Organisation Details" tab: 
      You will get an option to assign an Address, Logo and update the name of the Org Unit.
      
      Click on Save button.
   3. "Employees List" tab: 
      You can assign a Line Manager (LM) role to an employee. 
         
      • Search for the employee by name and click on the "Down Arrow" to get the option "Assign Manager".
      • You can add the "Direct reports" from the same screen rather than going to the profile page.
      • Search for the employee by name and click "Assign Employee" to add employee's as direct report.
        

Once the above steps are completed, you can update the employee's direct report without getting the  "GraphQL error: Manager doesn't have a organization" message.
