Overview
The Yomly mobile app now sends push notifications for payslips and leave. Employees hear about a new payslip or a change to their leave request the moment it happens, and managers hear when a leave request is waiting for their approval. Each notification opens the relevant screen in the app with one tap.
How These Notifications Help
1. No more checking back
Employees no longer need to open the app or email HR to ask whether their payslip is out or their leave is approved. The update comes to them.
2. Faster leave approvals
Managers get notified about new leave requests as soon as they are raised, rather than when they next log in. Employees get approval/rejection updates right away and can plan accordingly..
3. One tap to the detail
Every notification opens the exact screen the employee needs, so they can view the payslip or check the leave status straight away.
When Users Receive Them
Notifications are sent in real time, as soon as the triggering action is completed on the web portal or the mobile app.
| Notification | Who receives it | When it is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Payslip available | Employee | HR publishes or releases payslips for a payroll period |
| New leave request | Approver (line manager or assigned approver) | An employee submits a leave request that needs their approval |
| Leave approved | Employee | The approver approves the request (each level, for multi-level workflows) |
| Leave rejected | Employee | The approver rejects the request |
| Leave cancelled | Approver | The employee cancels a pending or approved request |
| Leave cancellation update | Employee | The approver approves or reject a cancellation request. |
What the payslip notification shows
The payslip notification names the pay period only, for example: "Your September 2026 payslip is available." It never shows salary amounts or other pay details, so nothing sensitive appears on the lock screen. Employees see the figures only after they tap on the notification to view the payslip.
Where Notifications Take Users
Tapping a notification opens the Yomly app on the relevant screen. If the user is logged out, the app asks them to log in first and then takes them to that screen.
| Notification | Opens | What the user can do there |
|---|---|---|
| Payslip available | Payslip (in PDF format) for that payroll period | View the earnings and deductions breakdown, download, share or save the payslip |
| New leave request | Leave request detail in the approver's pending approvals | Review dates, leave type and balance, then approve or reject |
| Leave approved | Employee's leave request detail | See the approved status and updated leave balance |
| Leave rejected | Employee's leave request detail | See the rejected status and any comment from the approver |
| Leave cancelled | Approver's leave request detail | See that the request has been withdrawn |
Note: If the payslip or leave request has since been deleted or withdrawn, the app opens the Payslips or Leave list instead.
