Yomly now gives organizations more control over which employee information appears in Calendar and the dashboard's Upcoming Dates widget. Administrators can choose the standard employee view and separately decide which roles receive broader calendar access.
These enhancements help organizations manage employee privacy while preserving the visibility needed by managers and HR teams.
Configure employee calendar visibility
Go to General Settings → Permissions, select Edit permissions, and find Employee calendar visibility.
For employees without full calendar access, choose:
- Own calendar only: Employees see their own calendar events and upcoming dates.
- Team members and direct reports: Employees can see information for their assigned team members, with direct-report information available to managers.
Team visibility is enabled by default for existing organizations.
You can separately choose who can see all employees' calendars:
- All employees
- Managers, HR assistants, HR managers, and HR admins
- HR assistants, HR managers, and HR admins
- HR admins only
The own-calendar restriction applies to employees without broader access. HR admins retain their elevated access, while division admins without full calendar access see employees within the divisions they administer. Existing employee audience restrictions continue to apply.
A Current visibility summary makes it easier to review the configuration.
Consistent Calendar and Upcoming Dates permissions
Calendar and Upcoming Dates now apply the same configured employee audience.
Upcoming Dates shows up to 10 upcoming events within the next year, while Calendar displays events for the selected date range. Their displayed totals may therefore differ.
How Team Availability works
The dashboard's Team Availability widget uses the Teams assigned on employee business cards. It operates independently of Calendar visibility settings, including Own calendar only.
For example, a manager may see direct reports in Calendar and Upcoming Dates according to their permissions, while Team Availability shows members of their assigned Teams. Sharing a department or organizational unit alone does not add colleagues to Team Availability.
The widget now includes an Assigned team members only subtitle to make this distinction clearer.
