Managing public holidays within your organization ensures accurate leave calculations and streamlined planning across teams. Yomly allows you to easily add, edit, or delete holidays using Public Holiday Calendars.
Follow the steps below to manage public holiday calendars in your Yomly system.
Step 1: Log in to Your Yomly Account
Log in to Yomly using your dedicated business URL.
Step 2: Navigate to Public Holiday Settings
Once logged in:
Go to the Main Menu
Click Settings
Select Leaves β Public Holidays
Here you will see a list of existing public holiday calendars or have the option to create a new one.
A. Creating a New Public Holiday Calendar
If youβre setting up a calendar for the first time or for a new region or business unit:
Click Add Public Holiday Calendar
Enter a name for the calendar (e.g., "UAE 2025 Holidays", "UK Office Calendar")
Start adding holiday dates and names:
Click '+ Add Holiday'
Select the Date , enter the Holiday Name and click on Save (

Repeat for each public holiday
π Tip: Ensure holidays are added accurately to avoid miscalculations in leave balances.
B. Editing or Deleting Holidays in an Existing Calendar
If you need to make changes to an existing holiday calendar:
From the Public Holidays section, select the calendar you want to modify.
To edit a holiday:
Click the Pencil (
) icon next to the holiday.
Update the date or holiday name as needed.
Save the changes.
To delete a holiday:
Click the Trash (
) icon next to the holiday.
Confirm the deletion when prompted with the confirmation as seen below.
π Note: Deleting a holiday immediately removes it from the calendar and can affect employee entitlements.
Once saved, your public holiday calendar will be applied to relevant employees based on their assigned holiday calendar in the system. This ensures accurate leave accruals, calculations, and leave entitlements.
Note:
Only HR Admins can create or modify public holiday calendars.
Always double-check entries before saving to avoid issues with leave calculations.
