Payrun Error : Gratuity preferences need to be setup properly

Issue

When creating a payrun, you may receive a failure with the error:
“Gratuity preferences need to be set up properly”

This indicates that Gratuity preferences have not been configured for the location of the affected employee.

 


 

Resolution Steps

  1. Identify Employee Location
    • View the profile of the affected employee and note their assigned location.

  2. Verify and Configure Gratuity Settings
    • Navigate to: Settings → Preferences → Business Payroll



    • Select EOS Gratuity and locate the settings for the employee’s location.
    • Configure the following as required by your business:

      • Calculation based on Gross or Basic Salary

      • Daily rate calculation method

      • Whether unpaid leaves should be deducted

      • Pay group responsible for running the calculation

    • Click on Save

  3. Requery the Payrun
    • Requery the payrun for the affected employee only.

    • The error should now be cleared.

      Notes

      • If the employee’s country is not listed or Gratuity cannot be customized, please raise a request by emailing help@yomly.com.

      • The support team can either add the country or create a custom pay category for this case.
