Once the Maternity Leave Tiers have been configured, the next step is to set up a Pay Category to calculate salary deductions for staff and display them in the payrun.
Yomly provides a built-in Pay Category called "Unpaid Maternity Leave", which can be easily enabled.
Steps
Go to Settings → Payroll → Pay Categories.
Click Add Pay Category and select Add Global Pay Category.
From the list, select [PREF] Unpaid Maternity Leave and click on Enable
- You would now be able to see this as one of your available Pay Categories
How it works:
When a female staff member is on Maternity Leave, the first month’s payrun will display her salary as normal (full pay).
On the second payrun, the system will calculate and display the applicable Unpaid days according to the configured Maternity Leave tiers.
In the example below:
The employee is entitled to 45 days full pay and 15 days half pay.
The system calculates 7.5 days as Unpaid Leave, which is reflected in the payrun and deducted from the salary accordingly.
