Can I add additional employee details (in addition to default profile data fields)?

Yes. Depending on the kind of details you want to add, as a platform admin with the HRADMIN access level, you can add one of the following to employee profiles:

Custom fields

You can use custom fields to add additional employee details (additional to the details you can enter in the default employee profile data fields) to profiles.

Custom fields enable you to add plain text fields to the following tabs in employee profiles:

  • Employment
  • Personal
  • Salary > Payroll
  • Salary > Bank Details

Using custom fields, you can add employee details quickly and easily because the configuration involves simple steps that do not require any coding. However, they are simple (plain) text fields and can be used to add information only to specific areas in employee profiles.

Data containers

Data containers provide additional capabilities when adding additional employee details.

In addition to plain text, data containers support different kinds of data fields, such as text, dates, custom lists, emails, URLs, checkboxes, radio buttons, attachments, and more.

You can add data containers to any profile tab.

In fact, you can use data containers to customize the information you want to display in features across the platform.

Although you can create and edit data containers yourself, it requires advanced knowledge and skills.
