This article is a quick-reference guide to setting up permission-based rules to implement advanced customization in Payroll. It helps you identify the permissions you need to enable or disable to display or hide specific Payroll features.
About advanced customization
Advanced customization takes your ability to customize Yomly to the next level by letting you implement granular user access control instead of hiding or displaying entire platform features.
You can do this by setting up permission-based rules at different levels to grant or restrict a specific kind of access to different UI elements of Yomly features. This, in turn, enables you to control whether your platform users have the ability to perform actions and how they view different kinds of data.
You can create multiple rules to configure unique permissions for different audiences (custom groups of employees).
Implementing advanced customization for Payroll features
To implement advanced customization for any Payroll feature, when configuring rules for the respective UI component (in the Customization > User Interface tab in your business settings), select the required permission and enable or disable the True/False toggle button.

In any pay run governed by a pipeline, a pipeline action drop-down menu replaces the Delete pay run, Requery, and Complete pay run action buttons in the upper-right corner.
For these pay runs, you do not need to configure permission-based rules to implement custom access to the corresponding options in the pipeline action menu as audience-based access is already configured for different states of the pipeline.
